Special Convention 2017 Vienna

Special Convention 2017 Vienna

We have been so happy for the privilege of being with you at the Special Convention in Vienna/Austria. The big crowd of brothers and sisters was overwhelming. It is such a joy to see Jehovah’s people from all over the world being together in unity. We especially enjoyed singing the first song “Light in a Darkened World” acapella (due to sound issues). The power of so many voices really touched my heart.

You surely have enjoyed these days in the spiritual paradise and got a glimpse of the time, when all the world is filled with people who love Jehovah and want to serve only him.

We are used of being surrounded by violence, pain and sorrow nowadays, that it is extremely hard for us to imagine how life in the new world is going to be. We surely will be amazed, as it is said in Psalm 37:10, 11:

Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. 11 But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. — Psalm 37:10, 11

During our conventions and assemblies I can really see a glimpse of the paradise ahead of us. I feel home and safe. How true are the lyrics of one of our Original Songs:
We are sisters, We are brothers, sons and daughters and more… And I love you even though I never met you before.

Especially after such amazing conventions I always feel reluctant to return to “the real life”. The massive amount of work and stress in today’s time, can easily take down the motivation and energy we got from our spiritual education. That’s why it is especially important to remind ourselves of the things we have learned. During our midweek meeting we now recap from time to time certain program points and videos from last years convention. I really appreciate those reminders as they remind me to store up a treasure in heaven and get a firm hold to the REAL “real life” in the future.

… safely treasuring up for themselves a fine foundation for the future, so that they may get a firm hold on the real life. — 1 Timothy 6:12

Do you look forward to your next convention? How do you feel after the convention and what do you do to prevent falling into the “post-convention depression”?

Here are some pictures of our Special Convention I collected on Instagram. Enjoy!
